UCSA IS SEEKING ENTERTAINERS
Would you like to be a part of the evening's entertainment for New Year's Eve? Do you have a talent that you would like to showcase? We are currently looking for a few talented individuals or groups to audition for a chance to entertain at the New Year's Eve Dance. The setting for the evening is nightclub 1940's - e.g. Rat Pack, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Casablanca . . . live big band music, hors d'oeuvres, and dancing interspersed with cabaret entertainment. We are looking for talented dancers, comedians, singers, magicians, mimes, jugglers, etcetera to perform a 3-5 minute act.
Auditions will be held on Tuesday, December 8th. If you are interested in auditioning, please email the following to the UCSA Committee at email@example.com:

Please submit no later than Sunday, December 6.
Your assigned time and audition location will be emailed to you.
Come to the audition prepared with the entertainment that you would like to perform on New Year's Eve.

"Wherefore Didst Thou Doubt?"
Jenny Oaks Baker, America’s Violinist, is a Grammy Nominated, Billboard No. 1 performer and recording artist. She received her Master of Music degree from the renowned Juilliard School in New York City and her Bachelor’s Degree in violin performance from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. She has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Strathmore Hall, the Library of Congress and as a guest soloist with the Jerusalem Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Utah Symphony, and the internationally acclaimed Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Over the years Jenny has collaborated with such luminaries as Gladys Knight, Kurt Bestor, Marvin Hamlisch, and the former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Mitch Davis earned his B.A. in English at Brigham Young University and a Master’s degree in Film Production from the University of Southern California. Following U.S.C., he worked as a junior executive at Walt Disney Pictures and contributed to such movies as “Rocketeer,” “Newsies,” “White Fang” and “Dead Poets Society.” Davis later moved to a producer’s job at Columbia Studios before finally leaving Hollywood altogether to pursue a career as an independent filmmaker. He has written and directed four feature films: “Windrunner,” “The Other Side of Heaven,” starring Academy Award winning actress, Anne Hathaway, “Language of the Enemy” starring Academy Award winning actor, F. Murray Abraham, and, most recently, “Christmas Eve” starring Patrick Stewart

Single Adults who love to sing are invited to join the UCSA choir.
The choir is preparing for their annual Christmas concert to be held on December 20th.
New members can join any time after the concert..
Rehearsals begin at 5:30 p.m. each Sunday evening and are held at the following locations:

Single Adult Religion Classes
SALEM: Held on Tuesday mornings, 10 - 11:30 am, taught by Rebecca Stay. Class topic is Old Testament and study begins with Genesis 1. Classes begin on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Location is the Salem Utah Stake Center, 500 East Salem Canal Road, Salem. Register through BYU Continuing Education or register at the door when you come with check or cash. All are invited. Class will NOT be held during the week of Thanksgiving.
OREM: Tuesday evenings from 7 - 8:30 pm at the Mountain View Seminary Building, 725 W Center Street. Brother Judd Hixson will teach Doctrines of the Gospel. This class will continue through December 8th. Please come join us.
SPRINGVILLE: Held on Tuesday evenings, 7 - 8:30 pm, taught by Rebecca Stay. Class topic is Finding Christ in the Old Testament, studying from the book of Abraham onward. Classes begin on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Location is 1965 East Canyon Road, Springville. Register through BYU Continuing Education or register at the door when you come with check or cash. All are invited. Class will NOT be held the evening of Oct 13 nor during the week of Thanksgiving.
AMERICAN FORK: Held every Wednesday at 7 pm in the American Fork Junior High Seminary Building, 17 East 1120 North, American Fork. Class topic is the Pearl of Great Price. Brother Bones and Brother Babbel will teach on alternating weeks.
Utah County Single Adults (UCSA) serves Single Adults ages 46+ (see http://multistakesingles.org), as does Mount Timpanogos Singles (MTS) (see http://TimpFHE.org). Single Adults ages 46+ from all over the valley are invited to the activities of both these groups. Single Adults 31-45 are welcome to attend the UCSA activities.
