You and you're friends are invited: Like our June Singles Conference Dances, LDS Singles from all over the world come to celebrate our LDS Heritage during LDS General Conference. This is a beautiful venue for the dance so spread the word!
Center Stage Dance Floor Entrance
Location: UVU from 8:30PM - 11:30PM in the Sorensen Student Center (North Entrance Only!). It will take place after the General Priesthood Session and end before the Sabbath Day. Three DJ's and three dance floors:
1 - "Grande Ballroom" ages: 31 and older (accommodates 1,500); DJ: Paul - "DiscConnection".
2 - "Center Stage" ages: 31-45 (accommodates 300); DJ: Ashlee - "DiscConnection"
3 - "Reception Room" - Hispanic Music (accommodates 200); DJ: Matt - "DiscConnection"
Catered Refreshments: Campus Catering is providing a nice selection of refreshments in "Center Courte", the student center restaurant. There's gaming tables in Center Courte while the outdoor "Courtyard Plaza" is available for socializing (lawns, fountains and upper deck walkways for moonlit views of Utah Lake).
Grande Ballroom - The "Grande" & "Commons" are nice with balconies and seating all around! The entire facility is wheelchair friendly. Click on thumbnails for larger images of the maple / mohogany floors.
Cost: This is a non-profit dance sponsored by the Utah South Area Multi-Stake Singles and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Sisters: $10 if you arrive after 9:30pm (It's $5 if you arrive between 8:30 - 9:30pm)
Brothers: $10 - However - if you attend the General Priesthood Session and can tell us about the talks, it's $5
"The Courtyard" - Reflected moonlight views over Utah Lake from upper walkways.
Dress: Since Brothers will be coming from LDS General Conference Priesthood and will be in Sunday Dress, we suggest everyone attend in Sunday Dress. However, dress is officially "Dressy/Casual". LDS standards of dress and conduct apply. No hats, shorts, grubbies or immodest clothing in length, style and fit. Attire must cover shoulders, chest and mid-drift to below the knee. Dresses should not lift or rise above the knees when dancing or twirling. No alcohol, same sex dancing, unkind or indecent behavior, piercing except for ladies earrings. All divorces must be final. Best dress suggested; clothing should be neat, clean and cover garment lines.
Park in north parking lots and enter the Student Center (Bldg 7) from the north side.
- Head South on I-15.
- Take Exit 269 University Parkway.
- Turn left on UT-265,W University Parkway and go east for 0.3 miles to 800 West University Parkway.
- Turn left at light and veer left around the college roundabout.
- Follow College Drive to the North end of the College.
- The Sorensen Student Center is directly west of the Orem LDS Institute Building.
- You'll have to walk if you arrive late because of the new buildings under construction.
